  • Dell Customer Service Hell

I was given a Dell Laptop for Christmas 2013. It shipped in January 2014. In March 2015, the mother board died. When I called Dell to inform them that my brand new computer was now a brick, they informed me that my warranty had expired a month earlier. I told them that was an unacceptable answer, that 1 year and 1 month old computers should not have bad mother boards, and that I would like to speak to a supervisor. They told me they would send my case to the escalation team, and that I would hear from them within 48 business hours. I said fine, please call after 430 during the week. That... More...

  • Dell's poor customer service

Bought a new Dell XPS desktop Oct 2014. As part of purchased ordered a software upgrade, which cost around $100. It was a digital order - no media included - which means you download the software directly after setting up your PC. Done that 100s of times. Set up went ok, but when we got to the download (via digitalriver) the software - packaged in a self-extracting file - wouldn't extract or install and kept giving error messages instructing us to reboot and try again. After 3 or 4 times of that nonsense email Dell support and requested a refund. They emailed back and said we had to... More...

  • Bad Customer Service

I have a Dell computer which is 10 months old. The hard drive went out. Best Buy replaced the hard drive but there was no operating system disk included when I bought the computer. Dell has been a nightmare. NO ONE speaks ENGLISH!!!! First, they couldn't get my information right. Then, they sent me a tools system disk instead of an operating disk. I"M STILL WAITING ON THE OPERATING DISK. How can you do customer service if you do not understand the customer?? I offered to return the computer for a full refund but they replied that "That is not an option". I will... More...

  • Dell Product Support

Until yesterday, I was a satisfied customer who had purchased four Dell systems in the past. A month ago, I ran Dell's PC Doctor/Dell Support Center and discovered that my Dell/Samsung internal hard drive had failed two crucial tests. A quick visit to several online forums indicated that I needed to replace the hard drive. I phoned Dell Sales and ordered a new Seagate Barracuda 7200 500 GB drive for $121.00. Although I could have purchased this same drive for approximately $70.00 from a number of suppliers, I ordered it from Dell because they had answered my questions and assured... More...

  • Never by a dell!

I have been a customer of Dell’s for over 10 years. I have purchased personally at least 6 computers not to count the corporate accounts I have had with them. Not that any of this should matter. I purchased an XPS laptop from them. Over the past few months it has had the motherboard replaced twice, the power supply replaced, the video card replaced and the ram replaced, and yet it still does not work. Now keep in mind I use this computer for professional reasons and have had to suffice on my netbook while I hoped that, maybe this time, my computer would be fixed. Of course, no... More...

  • Customer lease services

I have a leased Dell Vostro 1510. We are in to the third year of our lease and I was interested in upgrading and extending my lease for another three years. The lady, whom I am almost certain was of Eurpean Indian decent, informed me that this could not be done without paying of the remaining 11 months on this computer. I asked if they did not have a policy similar to telephone companies and was informed they were not a telephone company. Needless to say I am most frustrated. I will search for another computer company to deal with that has better customer service people, hopefully in the... More...

  • MULTIPLE LINE CONFUSION

Looking for a new laptop computer? Spent a couple of hours on line looking at Dell. What a mind boggle they have presented. It all depends on the "line" that you are interested in. Home and Small Business, Public Sector, or Large Business...... To cross compare any computer "deals" or bargins which are "granted" thru your place of employment, found on line or in stores are VERY confusing.... No tow products aree alike and therefore there is no consistency in the product pricing or comparative shopping... Why can't I find a Insprion 15 with i3-330 in... More...

  • Misleading

I recently ordered and received (not in a timely manner) a computer from Dell for an individual I occasionally help out who does all his work on the machine. As part of the order I made sure to check whether or not the graphics cards supported DVI. They even had a "Help Me Choose" page that I looked at and could see that my chosen card, although integrated, did support DVI. I have snapshots of the website showing it and the actual URL to the page that shows it also. Anyways I got the machine and low and behold there was only VGA connections to be found. I contacted Dell and... More...

  • Inspiron 1420 AC Adapter Issues

RE: Inspiron 1420 I am really hoping Dell will step up and take care of this!!! I have called a few times before trying to get this resolved online with a Dell customer service representative.I have also emailed Julie at Dell several times with NO response at all! What gives Dell? I am sooooo frustrated. I have owned several Dells and have only had an issue with 1 of them and you helped me to get it resolved very satisfactorily. I am disabled so this is even more frustrating to have a problem and not be able to get anyone to help me to resolve it! I am having major issues... More...

  • Lack of customer service

Case # 627386104 - I've had issues with this computer since I took it out of the box and all the techs want to do is reinstall windows. I tried to tell them there was nothing wrong with the hard drive (both times) but they insisted on replacing it. The problems re-occurred just the same. I've had several "memory management" crashes but techs won't replace the memory because it passes the diagnostics. I have to reinstall windows every 6-8 wks because things slowly get corrupted until nothing works properly anymore. It causes my CD drive to malfunction sometimes, and... More...

  • inspiron 1720

I bought my laptop in Jan. 2008 and it crashed the first time I booted it up. I called Dell and a technician walked me through reinstalling Vista. It works for a wk or so, then files begin to corrupt, the screensaver quits, it removes my admin privileges, then the blue screen starts. Their only solution is to reinstall windows. They've replaced the hard drive 2x and it makes no difference. It took them 11 months to discover the Bios needed updating - that stopped the blue screen but not the other problems. My warranty expires in 3 days and I still have a computer that has to have... More...

  • Awful Customer Service

I have been a customer of Dell for a while. When ordering you get good help. However, if something goes wrong you do not want to have to deal with the Dell people. I ordered a computer last year and I had great help when I ordered it. I had a problem with the screen going out though and I needed it serviced. I pay for that so why isn't it easy to get some assistance? You stay on hold, then you get someone in Inidia, which I have nothing against but if they can't speak English and we can't understand each other you can't get help. So being that I couldn't get... • Dell Complaint

This month, "Fortune Magazine" (Sept 15, 08), on page 35, of article technology (about Dell) we quote following from this article: "Dell has become almost a byword for lousy customer services". Purchased from Dell "Inspirin Laptop" paid $1,394.21. After purchase, I had to leave for Europe where I had an accident - came back to the US - Laptop arrived but after my accident, I was not able to lift this Laptop. I asked Dell to accommodate me and exchange the heavy Inspirin to a lighter model - but all I got was a "NO". I wrote 5 letters (by... More...
